Alumier Chemical Peels
What is a chemical peel?
You can think of a chemical peel as a deep exfoliation treatment. Rejuvenating the skin after years of build up of dead skin cells.
Peels treat many skin concerns such as acne, hyperpigmentation and ageing skin, they increase cell turnover and encourage fresh, new skin cells to the surface of the skin… if you’re hunting for that glow, look no further!
Will I look like Samantha from sex and the city?
If you’ve seen this episode, you know what I mean! The answer is no. Chemical peels were once upon a time only available as “deep” peels. Meaning there was a large downtime and the skin was left quite red and sore afterwards.
This is NOT the case anymore. Peels have come a long way and there are many peels to suit many different skin types and concerns.
Here at Re-balance, I offer superficial-medium depth peels which have very little downtime and are extremely safe.
How does the process work?
Before booking your chemical peel, we would get you to come into clinic for a consultation. Once we’ve assessed your skin and skin concerns, we’ll build a bespoke treatment package for you. At the consultation I will always recommend at least three products for you to take home and get started using, this will prepare your skin for your peel.
Your chemical peel results will be much better if your skin is prepped before hand, my clinic is not just about doing as many treatments as I can fit in, but more about teaching clients about their own skin and delivering fantastic results. Your results will be much more impressive if you prepare your skin beforehand.
On the day you can expect to be with me anywhere between 30 mins – 1 hour. You will receive a post procedure pack free of charge which you will use for three days post peel.
Micro-Needling - Skinpen
Micro-needling is one of the best anti ageing treatments out there. If you’re looking to treat fine lines and wrinkles then this is the treatment you want to have!
Not only is it fantastic at stimulating collagen production (which is what keeps us looking young!) but this treatment is also amazing for scarring – acne scarring, chicken pox scars and more.
Always best taken as a course of treatments and you can expect this treatment to take 4-6 weeks to take effect – Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither is collagen! It takes time to create new collagen.
Does it hurt?
No. You can expect to feel a little bit of scratch and some heat, if that. We numb the skin before the treatment which means you really shouldn’t feel much at all!
How long does the redness take to go down?
First of all, the redness is a GOOD thing! It means we’ve created a wound healing response within the skin and this is what we need to stimulate new collagen. So don’t be alarmed at the redness post treatment, but try and see it as a positive! It doesn’t last long, you can expect most of it to be gone after 24 hours.
What do I use on my skin after the session?
You will be given two products to use on your skin on the following days after your session. Designed to calm the skin and repair. I’ll also be giving you sensitive cleanser samples to use whilst the skin is repairing.
